To the families and community of Yolo County

We continue to adapt to the many changes that affect our community and our schools during the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Yolo County Public Health Officer has extended the Shelter in Place Order for Yolo County through May 1, 2020.  Subsequently, Governor Gavin Newsom issued a proclamation ordering all individuals living in the State of California to stay home or at their place of residence, except as needed to maintain continuity of operation of the federal critical infrastructure sectors.  Governor Newsom's proclamation remains in effect until further notice.

Additionally, last Friday, Governor Newsom estimated that the duration of school closures may last longer than initially intended, and may remain closed into summer.  No official decision has been made to extend school closures through the end of the school year.  YCOE will continue to update our community regarding information pertinent to school closures, meal services, distance learning, and the availability of child care.

Warm regards,
